Financial Aid & Scholarships

Financial Aid & Scholarships

Students are encouraged to investigate their financial aid & scholarship options when applying to college. There are different types of financial aid options available to students.

Grants: Grants are typically need-based (frequently tied to income level) and do not have to be repaid.

Scholarships: Scholarships are typically merit-based (i.e., based upon academic performance or athletic performance) and do not have to be repaid.

Loans: Loans must be repaid with interest. They may be public loans (i.e., from the US government) or private loans (from banks or other lenders).

GAfutures

GAfutures is a website that allows students to explore careers, plan high school courses, search for colleges throughout the country, learn how to pay for college, and more.

All students are expected to register for a GAFutures account. Please see your counselor for more information regarding this resource.
