International Week 2015: Step Into Culture / Our Cultural Footprint

International Week is April 20-24, culminating with International Night on Friday, April 24. International Night is a potluck dinner representing the many vivid cultures at Dunwoody High School. We need as many food donations as possible. Students will earn credit on their world language assignments, as well as free admission to International Night for bringing a global dish to feed 15 people. These dishes must be brought in before 4:30PM Friday, April 24th. Along with the dish, students must provide a 3"x5" note card with the name of the dish and a list of ingredients typed or written legibly on the front. On the back please include any preparation instructions, storage information, and the name of the country it is from. If interested please turn in permission slips no later than Tuesday, April 20. Tickets are $6.

During International Week, students involved in the various language classes at Dunwoody will enjoy a week of games and other fun activities to “step into” cultures around the world. Students are encouraged to participate in Dress Up Days during International Week. Each day has a different country represented.

Monday - France: Blue, White, & Red
Tuesday - Germany: Red, Black, & Yellow
Wednesday - Rome (Italy): Red, White, & Green
Thursday - Spain: Red & Yellow
Friday - United Nations Day/International Night: Light Blue & White (UN) OR wear your International Week t-shirt (on sale for $10)

We will also be collecting shoes throughout the week for One World Running, a charity that collects shoes to ship around the world to those in need. There will be various collection bins for all shoes in any condition located throughout the school beginning Wednesday, April 15 through Friday, April 24. All donations will be greatly appreciated.
