Varsity Girls Soccer -- Region Champs!

Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Soccer team for capturing the first ever region championship for the program and school in girls soccer! The team defeated Druid Hills in a hard fought game on Friday by the score 2-1. Lauren S. and Holley L. provided the scoring for the wildcats. Talley M. and Anna D., along with the rest of the team's defensive effort, secured this first place championship finish.

The Lady Wildcats were undefeated in Region play and scored 62 goals during the regular season and the tournament with only 1 goal against. According to DeKalb County statistics (recorded since 1982), this is a first for DHS Girls Soccer.

Congratulations to the Girls Soccer Team for finishing the season strong last night against #3 State Ranked 11-1 Woodward Academy. The team played tough and were competitive the whole game in preparation for next week's First Round of the playoffs. The team played evenly throughout the match and showed remarkable improvements from the beginning of the year. This is the first time that the program finishes with 10 or more wins in 4 consecutive years and the first time it advances to the state playoffs in the same manner. This is also the first time the girls host the playoffs for the third year in-a-row.

The team will host Chapel Hill HS on April 28 at North DeKalb Stadium at 5:30 in the first round of the state championships. Way to go, Wildcats!
