School Council Elections -- UPDATED 4/19/2018
The DHS School Council consists of the principal, two elected teacher representatives, one appointed business community member, and five parent representatives.

According to the by-laws, parent representatives are nominated and elected by the parent community of DHS. Starting Wednesday, April 11 and continuing through voting on Friday, May 4, there will be a nomination and election process to fill two (2) parent representative openings on the DHS School Council.

Newly elected parent representatives will serve a two-year term, starting August 2018 and continuing through May 2020. To be eligible to run for a parent representative position, a parent must have at least one child at DHS during that time frame (or a rising student).

Serving on the DHS School Council provides a great volunteer opportunity for parents to serve the school and community. The council is focused on student achievement and school improvement and monitors criteria such as attendance / enrollment, finance, school improvements, extra-curricular activities, teacher reports and student academic reports. They serve as a voice for issues from the local school to the Board of Education.

This year, we have two (2) parent representative positions that we will need to fill. Nominations for School Council parent representatives have been accepted. Please continue reading for the biographies of the nominees. The election will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m on May 4, 2018 in the DHS main office.
