International Dinner

The week of April 21-25, 2014 is International Week at Dunwoody High School. Throughout the week, your student will learn through various activities about the cultures that inhabit the world. You, your family, friends, and neighbors are invited to come to the International Festival that will take place on Friday, April 25, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the high school. There will be food from around the world to sample, as well as entertainment, such as a talent show and fear factor.  Admission is $6.00 per person and free for children under the age of two.  The proceeds will go to the DHS language classes, language clubs, and a charity called Heifer International. Heifer helps families around the world struggling with poverty and hunger.  Tickets may be purchased in advance from World Language students during all lunches.  This is a wonderful opportunity for you to demonstrate support of your child's study of a World Language, to have a fun and have an educational family experience, and to discover your world!

International Night is a potluck dinner representing all nations. We need as many food donations as possible.  Your child will earn credit on their international week assignment for bringing food and free admission to the festival.

On the day of the International Dinner, along with your international dish, you will need to provide a decorated 3x5 note card with the name of the dish, and a list of ingredients on the front (in case of allergies).  On the back of the card, be sure to include the preparation instructions (if any), storage information, and country name.  Dishes must be brought to the cafeteria no later than 5:30 pm on Friday.

Slips must be turned in no later than Thursday, April 24, in order to allow us sufficient time to make arrangements for the dinner.

If you have any questions, please email [email protected] for more details.  Thank you for your help and cooperation in making this event a success!
