Solar Eclipse: Aug. 21, 2017
On Monday, August 21, 2017, a solar eclipse will be visible (weather permitting) across all of North America. The event will begin at 1:05 pm and last until 4:01 pm. The Atlanta area will be at the 97% level at approximately 2:36 pm. As a result, DeKalb County School District will dismiss school one hour later to allow our schools to use this unique event as an instructional opportunity. Solar Eclipse & Athletics
Please be advised that due to the 1-hour delayed release of students by DeKalb County School District (DCSD) on Monday, August 21, all athletic events (varsity softball, JV softball, JV volleyball) for that day will be delayed by one hour as well.

The original start times that are scheduled for Monday's events will be pushed back by one hour to aid transportation in getting athletes to their scheduled contests.

New - The Wildcat Writing Center
DHS is happy to announce the opening of the Wildcat Writing Center (Room 2109), a place where students may go during lunch to receive help with their writing assignments. The center will offer "Lunch and Learn" sessions focusing on specialized writing topics, like the college application essay. Medication Authorization Forms for 2017-2018 School Year
Parents, please click here to download the medication authorization forms for presription as well as non-prescription medications. A doctor's signature is now required on both forms.  
Summer Assignments
Please click here for Summer Assignments, as well as for suggested summer reading. All Summer AP Assignments are due on the first day of school, Monday, August 7, no matter which semester the student has the course.

DCSD Launchpad / Office 365
DeKalb County Schools introduces Launchpad, a student portal that provides access to the students’ Office 365 accounts as well as a multitude of digital academic resources which are provided by the district. With Launchpad, students are able to integrate technology in the classroom while maximizing instructional time. Launchpad is dynamic tool that changes resources as the needs of the students change. It is easily accessible from any mobile device.
Thanks to Microsoft’s Student Advantage Program, all students currently enrolled in the DeKalb County School District are eligible to download and use Microsoft Office for free.
